Write-back not working on my Excel file
Check your browser
Excel write-back uses the File System Access API, which is only supported in Chrome and Edge. It does not work in Firefox or Safari. Make sure you are using a supported browser.
Check your plan
Write-back requires a Pro plan or higher. On the free plan, the "Connect to file" option is hidden, and the Edit button shows a lock icon. Upgrade to Pro to enable write-back.
File permissions
Make sure the Excel file is not read-only or open in another application (e.g. Excel). If the file is locked by another app, SheetForge cannot write to it.
Reconnect the file
File System Access permissions are session-based. If you refresh the page or open the app in a new tab, you will need to reconnect to the file by clicking "Connect to file" again.
