Uploading your first spreadsheet

🚀 Getting Started Updated 19 May 2026 30 views

Step 1 - Prepare your file

SheetForge works best with spreadsheets that have a clear header row as the first row. Each column becomes a data field, and each row becomes a record in your app.

Supported formats: CSV, XLSX (Excel), and Google Sheets (public links).

Step 2 - Go to the generator

Visit sheetforge.ai/generate-app. You will see a file upload area and a Google Sheets URL field.

Step 3 - Upload or paste

  • File upload: Drag and drop your CSV or Excel file onto the upload area, or click "Browse file" to select it.
  • Google Sheets: Copy the sharing URL from your Google Sheet and paste it into the URL field, then click "Import".

Step 4 - Review your data

SheetForge detects your column types automatically. You will see a summary of detected columns and row count. If you have a multi-sheet Excel file, a tab bar will appear so you can include additional sheets.

Step 5 - Choose your views and generate

Select which views you want (Table, Dashboard, Kanban, etc.) and click "Forge my app". Your app is generated instantly in your browser.

Tip: The free plan uses the first 500 rows. For larger datasets, upgrade to a paid plan.
