Importing a Google Sheet
Making your sheet accessible
For SheetForge to import your Google Sheet, it must be set to "Anyone with the link can view":
- Open your Google Sheet
- Click Share in the top-right corner
- Under "General access", change to "Anyone with the link"
- Set the role to Viewer
- Click Copy link
Pasting the link into SheetForge
Go to sheetforge.ai/generate-app, paste the link into the "Google Sheets URL" field, and click Import.
Multi-tab Google Sheets
If you have connected your Google account (via the "Connect Google account" button), SheetForge can detect all tabs in your workbook. A tab picker will appear, and you can select one or more tabs to include in your app. Each tab becomes a separate sheet in your generated app.
Without a connected Google account, SheetForge will import the tab specified in your link URL (identified by the gid parameter).
Private sheets
If your sheet is private, connect your Google account first. SheetForge will use OAuth to access sheets your Google account has permission to view.
