How SheetForge handles your data
Free tool (generator page)
When you upload a file or import a Google Sheet on the generator page, your data never leaves your browser. All processing happens client-side using JavaScript. SheetForge does not receive or store your spreadsheet data during the generation step.
Shared apps
When you click "Share", your data is sent to our servers and stored so that the shared link works. Data is encrypted at rest. Share link data expires and is deleted after 7 days (free plan) or is retained until you delete it (paid plans).
Google Sheets access
When you connect your Google account, SheetForge stores your OAuth access token securely (encrypted in our database) to enable sheet metadata lookup and write-back. We only request the minimum permissions required. You can revoke access at any time from your Google account settings.
GDPR
SheetForge is GDPR compliant. We are based in the UK. See our GDPR policy and security page for full details.
