Supported file formats

CSV (.csv)

Plain comma-separated values files. Must have a header row as the first row. UTF-8 encoding is recommended. Files up to 10 MB are supported.

Excel (.xlsx)

Microsoft Excel workbooks. SheetForge reads all visible sheets. The first row of each sheet is treated as the header row. Formula results are read (not formulas themselves). Merged cells are flattened.

On Chrome and Edge, you can use the "Connect to file" option to enable automatic write-back to your original Excel file (Pro plan required).

Google Sheets

Public Google Sheets can be imported by pasting the sharing URL. Connected accounts (via OAuth) can also import private sheets and multi-tab workbooks.

File size limits

• Free plan: first 500 rows used
• Pro plan: up to 50,000 rows
• File size limit: 10 MB

What if my file has multiple sheets?

For Excel files, SheetForge automatically detects all sheets. A tab bar will appear during the review step so you can include multiple sheets in your app. Each sheet gets its own view in the generated app.
