Auto-refresh for Google Sheets sources

🔗 Sharing & Embedding Updated 20 May 2026 20 views

What is auto-refresh?

When your app is built from a Google Sheets source, SheetForge can automatically re-fetch the latest data from Google Sheets at regular intervals and update the shared app. Viewers always see up-to-date data without needing to re-share.

Available intervals

  • Every 1 hour
  • Every 6 hours
  • Every 24 hours

How to enable it

When sharing your app, select a refresh interval from the "Refresh data" dropdown. This requires a Pro plan.

Schema change detection

If your Google Sheet adds or removes columns between refreshes, SheetForge detects the schema change and flags it on the shared app. Viewers are informed that the column structure has changed.

Limits

Auto-refresh only works for public Google Sheets or sheets linked via a shareable URL. Private sheets refreshed via OAuth are not currently supported for auto-refresh.
